Botulinum Toxin Treatment for Essential Hand Tremor
presented by Duarte Machado, MD

At this meeting Dr. Machado will review the safety and efficacy of this treatment, as well as a recent publication by him on this topic.

Dr. Duarte Machado is board certified in Neurology with subspecialty training in Movement Disorders. His interest and commitment to helping those with Movement Disorders sparked early on in his life after his grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease while he was a high school student in Waterbury, CT. A graduate of Trinity College (BA, Neuroscience, 2001) and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (MD, 2005), he completed neurology residency training at the Yale School of Medicine, where he was also chosen to be Chief Resident.

Currently Co-Director of the Hartford HealthCare Neuroscience Institute Movement Disorders Center, Dr. Machado is a member of the American Neurological Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, the National Physicians Alliance, and the New Haven County Medical Association. He has repeatedly been chosen as a Vitals Top 100 Doctors, awarded nationally to just 1% of all doctors who meet the criteria for this honor.
